Endurance & Adventure Racers Talk about their TurboCat systems

Donald, NY - Thank you for your technical assistance and your support for our team at this year’s Eco-Challenge.

Sean, CA - I wanted to give you a quick follow-up and thank you for your lighting information and advice. I used the S10 - 5 watt Ni-Cad for the Route 66 double century this weekend. The system worked flawlessly! Plenty of bright light with burn time to spare.

Chris, OK - I have used this light in two adventure races. It’s much better than my friends’ night riders!

Ruben, CA -- Eco-Challenge, Borneo: It turned out that we started the bike leg at sundown so our bike lighting systems turned out to be critical. We were heading down jungle roads at very fast speeds in pitch black darkness and our lighting system was so important. That section was the make or break section of the race for us. Your product performed beautifully.

Bob, GA -- You were right; the 5 watt bulb was great. The biking sections were not very technical so 5w was plenty. The light was awesome on the headband as a trekking light. It worked so well my partner turned his light off and we just used one light. Thanks for all your help.

Chuck, MN - Thank you for your racer support program.

Our Racer Support Program allows TurboCat owners who are registered in 24-Hour Races, Adventure Racing, Eco-Challenges, and other long distance rides to purchase extra batteries, bulbs and chargers at VERY special prices. Contact us for details.

Charging from a car can be accomplished by using a DC to AC inverter to power your regular TurboCat battery charger. Radio Shack, the Heartland mail order catalog at (800) 229-2901, and various electronics stores sell inverters for $30 and up. We can supply one for $50.

Low temperatures shorten the run times of lead-acid and alkaline batteries. Expect a reduction of 15-20% at 32 degrees and 25-30% at 20 degrees. Lithium (not rechargeable), ni-cad and nickel-metal hydride batteries are excellent at low temperatures.
